That's a sign of a healthy bird. Keep in mind, that in the wild, Canaries are social creatures that communicate with their flock all day long. You canary is just trying to talk to you.

My male canary seems to chirp alot to the point that I move him into another room sometimes. Is this consistent chirping normal or is the bird trying to communicate a problem? The bird does sing beautifully at times too but the chirping can be irritating. Any comments?

Excellent advice about the parrots diet! Many people think that seeds are the staple of a birds diet but they are too high fat...it would be like you eating all potato chips at every meal!
